Media Release: RCS supports the Farm Table’s vision of a connected industry

Media Release: November 1 2017

The Farm Table’s vision is to be the online home of a connected, sustainable and profitable Australian agricultural industry. A key ingredient in achieving this is enabling farmers to more easily and quickly access training and ongoing development courses to fill knowledge gaps, increase their skills and build experiences.

Launching on November 9, the Farm Table’s Opportunities Database – Boost – will be a one-stop shop to access training, events, and funding opportunities from across the country and across industry, a first for the Australian agricultural industry.

Founder and MD, Airlie Trescowthick, struggled to easily find what was available for her to upskill and grow her farming knowledge and experience. “I know I need to invest in my ongoing knowledge and sometimes that involves stepping off-farm to engage in ongoing training, conferences, producer forums, short courses and farmer training days”.

However, she explained that finding these opportunities was time consuming and found across a multitude of different websites, Facebook, emails and printed newspapers. “I hope the Opportunities database makes it a little bit easier for farmers to find training and events that they seek to keep abreast of what’s going on in the industry and engage in their ongoing learning.”

Supporting the launch of the Farm Table is Resource Consulting Services (RCS).  RCS is Australia’s leading provider of whole-of-business education, training and consulting services for the agricultural sector. They equip farmers with professional and practical skills, enabling them to take their business to a new level and secure sustainable profits and a better quality of life.

Adam Curcio, Operations Manager at RCS, feels there is a strong need for this new platform. “Moving into the digital age, The Farm Table is exactly what the agricultural industry needs,” Adam said. “By sifting through the overabundance of information available online and bringing the quality material together in a one-stop shop, the platform will allow RCS to better connect with farmers who are truly looking to improve their business, land and lifestyle.”

The Farm Table is thrilled to partner with RCS, who Airlie considers a leading Australian training provider for farmers. “Not only are the courses RCS provide of the highest quality, they also have a team of highly experienced advisors that work to help farmers achieve their goals through professional development, feasibility studies, business planning, analysis and benchmarking. We are so grateful for their ongoing support.”
