Farm Table and PwC Australia “The ideas and resources behind The Farm Table provide a fantastic opportunity to provide users with access to the relevant information they require in much more friction-less ways. With the collection, curation, creation and critiquing of truly meaningful information, wherever, however, or whenever, in a better and more resonant way is truly unique in the agriculture arena. We are proud to be a foundation supporter of The Farm Table.”
We are so grateful for the support of Craig Heraghty and the team at PwC Australia. Thank you for believing in the vision of the Farm Table and being one of the first people to say to me, “what can we do to help?” rather than saying “it’s too big a dream, you can’t do it”. As a young producer, I know that to increase my likelihood of farm business success I need to continually seek knowledge, experience and opportunities. You recognised this too and agreed that users across the industry need to access the information they require in more friction-less ways.
You told me your team supported the Farm Table idea because the collection, curation, creation and critiquing of truly meaningful information, wherever, however, or whenever, in a better and more resonant way is needed and truly unique in the agriculture arena. We are certainly a long way off that, but with your encouragement we are working to deliver a practical, valuable and much-needed product for the Australian agricultural industry. Thank you, Craig, and to PwC, for your foundational support of the Farm Table and in particular, the Build library . We won’t let you down.
Farm Table and AgriFutures Australia "Supporting emerging leaders and new ideas is a key focus of our organisation. The Farm Table is a new and important resource for the agricultural community across Australia. We are proud to be a major supporter in building a platform that provides access to information in one convenient location.”
AgriFutures Australia have thrown their support behind the online ecosystem, identifying the Farm Table - and in particular, the Farmer Exchange, as a powerful solution for farming information and connecting farmers from all across Australia in a new and innovative way. AgriFutures Australia vision is to grow the long-term prosperity of Australian rural industries. This includes delivering initiatives that attract capable people into careers in agriculture, build the capability of future rural leaders, and support change makers and thought leaders.
“Supporting emerging leaders and new ideas is a key focus of our organisation. The Farm Table is a new and important resource for the agricultural community across Australia. We are proud to be a major supporter in building a platform that provides access to information in one convenient location,” says John Harvey, Managing Director, AgriFutures Australia.
Farm Table and Farming Together Housed within the Farm Table online platform, the Farmer Exchange Beta Project was funded by the Australian Government’s Farm Co-operatives & Collaboration Pilot Program (Farming Together), together with key partner, AgriFutures Australia (formally the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation).
The Farm Co-operative and Collaboration Program was delivered by Southern Cross University on behalf of the Australian Government.
Farm Table and NSW Department of Primary Industries/Young Farmer Business Program Young Farmer Business Program (YFBP) is a 4yr initiative funded by the NSW Government to build the business skills of farmers aged 18-35. Through surveying its stakeholders, the YFBP found the need for a one-stop-shop website for business information was High amongst respondents. Farm Table was highlighted as a recognized source of information for this demographic and it was proposed that hosting YFBP content, events and news on the Farm Table is a natural fit and avoids reinventing the wheel.
For government to listen to their stakeholders and partner with a farmer-led startup rather than creating a whole new service was bold and collaborative. Farm Table is proud to have built and host the Young Farmers Hub within our platform and look forward to watching it grow and develop.
We look forward to talking with like-minded organisation's about working collaboratively to make tangible change to the Australian agricultural industry.
